Homes in Hinsdale by Famed Achitect Harold Zook
One of the great things about my job of being a Hinsdale Realtor® is getting to go into and sell some pretty amazing homes in the area.
I have always been fascinated by the work of Harold Zook. Architect Zook built several homes in the Hinsdale area which carry his “signature” spider web designs and chevron patterns incorporated into the home. He was to Hinsdale what Frank Lloyd Wright was to Oak Park an artist, not just an architect.
Probably the most recognizable work of Zook’s is Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge in Hinsdale, IL. Fifty two 52 acres of woodland beauty create a setting year-round for residents and non-residents to hold private and corporate events. Built by Harold Zook in 1927 the English style building was dedicated as a retreat for women employed at International Harvester.
Architect Zook built several homes in the Hinsdale area which carry his “signature” spider web designs and chevron patterns incorporated into the home.
